The ERC TOSC family supports Adopt-a-Senior Program
by Mary Banasik
We had 50 TOSC Employees that adopted a total of 87 seniors (approximately 260 gifts (3 gift per adoptee)! Lisa Chapman, Valerie Armour and myself (2 vans and one truck packed “to the gills”) dropped off the presents at “Aging Matters In Brevard.” Each adopted senior was registered with the Meals on Wheels program in Brevard County and most of their three wishes were really “needs”, not wants (toiletries, blankets, snacks, pillows, etc.).
This was our 2nd year participating in the “Adopt-A-Senior” campaign. The first year, we adopted 53 seniors…and this year we increased to 87 seniors! I am looking forward to next year’s goal of 100 seniors. This is what the Christmas season is all about (as well as one of ERC’s corporate values), “Giving and Sharing”. It is the Christmas Spirit of helping those less fortunate, or those without families, it’s about brightening up some of our “Lost” senior’s holidays and letting them know that there are people out there who truly care. I am so proud to be of service and participate in this worthwhile project and would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you, to the 50 TOSC Team Members who selflessly gave and embraced the Christmas Spirit this year. Together we made a difference and brightened up the lives and holidays of 87 seniors, definitely a job well done!!!!
ERC TOSC Team wins 3rd place for Feds Feeds Family Food Drive
TOSC was congratulated for its third place finish in the annual Feds Feed Families Food Drive. KSC Center Director Robert Cabana presented the team with a commemorative plaque on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
For the third consecutive year, TOSC was among the top finishers in the drive, donating 1,707 total pounds of non-perishable food items for distribution to local food banks. ERC donated $1,000 toward the food drive.
At Kennedy Space Center (KSC), the campaign brought in a combined total of 34,366 pounds – the most KSC has ever collected – and exceeded this year’s goal by 4,000 pounds.
