Good morning ERC Family,
Brian Hadley was recently spotted in soccer action by Karen Wu (Ernie’s sister). She told Ernie how impressed she was with Brian’s talent. Karen sent me some additional details so I could share with the ERC family:
“In January, I had the chance to watch Brian play in an indoor soccer tournament. The stakes were high…tournament champions would qualify for the National Indoor Soccer Championship! Brian’s team won! Their success was in part due to Brian’s individual contributions and his ability to work as part of a fast-paced team, just like I’m sure he does at ERC.
I knew he is a great soccer player, but having the chance to witness high quality soccer played live was a real treat. I don’t know if he could hear me, but I was cheering loudly for him. I am so proud of the team for winning; Brian’s connection with ERC makes it seem so much more personal as he is ERC family. I wish Brian and the soccer team much luck and fun at the Championships in March. Go Brian!!!”
A little more about Brian and his team:
–Brian’s position: Defender
–Brian’s team is the “NOW Lads,” named for the NOW Academy which was started by his teammate, Nobert Webley. Norbert is coach to Lucy, Karen’s daughter.
–At the qualifying regional tournament, the NOW Lads won 3 games and tied 1 game.
–The NOW Lads team was formed just a few months prior to this tournament, but Brian and his teammates play together recreationally year-round.
–The National Indoor Soccer Championship will take place at the end of March in Palatine, Il. This tournament includes teams from all over the U.S. with several pro-indoor teams.
Keep your fingers crossed for Brian and his Lads to bring home the trophy! Brian, your ERC family is very proud of you!
Brian’s wife, Jill, sent along some pictures of Brian in action and his special little cheerleaders (baby Jayden and his nieces):
