On Friday, March 10th JSOG was recognized with the 2016 Gold Corporate Safety Achievement Award. The award was presented at the United Safety Council’s 64th Annual Safety Awards Banquet in Orlando. This award is presented to a company that has successfully developed and implemented proactive and innovative safety programs.
Every year the competition for recognition gets stronger as organizations continuously improve their Safety Management System. In our category, a mid-sized company with 501-2000 employees the winners were:
Gold – Jacobs Space Operations Group – Kennedy Space Center
Silver –Abacus Technology Corporation – Kennedy Space Center
Bronze – City of Melbourne
The award was accepted by Jim LaRocque, Director of Safety and Mission Assurance, with support from the SH&E team and Safety Committee members. Joseph Mounts, Chairman of the SSPF/PSP Safety Committee received a Safety Leadership Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding support to the JSOG Safety Program.
If you recall, last year JSOG received the Silver Corporate Safety Achievement award. Our goal was to bring home the Gold this year and with all of us working together as a team, you made that happen.
