Engineering and Test Support Services –
ERC personnel, as subject matter experts, support testing of the latest equipment and software available on the most advanced and lethal rotary/fixed-wing aircraft in the world. ERC provides the Aviation Flight Test Directorate (AFTD) world-class engineering, analysis, project management, operational support, and consultation to accomplish its mission of planning and conducting developmental tests on aviation platforms, then analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations for airworthiness, system safety, and materiel release. Under the ETSS contract, ERC provides AFTD: Engineers (Aerospace, Electrical/Instrumentation, Mechanical/Structural, Software, and Human Factors), Pilots (Instructors, Test Pilots), Technicians (Engineering, Instrumentation, Reliability-Availability-Maintainability [RAM], Telemetry, Communications Security, and Test Support), Management and Budget Analysts, Computer/Database Operators, Flight Operations and Records Clerks, Photographers, Technical Editors/Writers, and Logistics personnel. ERC personnel have in-depth, hands-on experience testing rotary and fixed-wing airframes, weapons systems, weapons sensors, avionics, aircraft survivability systems, lasers, electro-optics, infrared systems, electro-magnetic environmental effects, navigation systems, and aviation life support equipment.
