Each year, ERC employees at many of our locations participate in the Feds Feed Families Food Drive.

This year WSTF-ERC approached the program differently from previous years. Instead of seeking hundreds of pounds of food donated, the team instead would raise dollars for the Feds Feed Families campaign. ERC brought forward a challenge to the team:  if we raised $1,000, our corporate ERC family would join in to match $1,000. As always, the WSTF-ERC team was up for the challenge! The team went to work to raise an amazing $1,200 in a very short period of time. Based on our group performance and the willingness of our corporate office to support our efforts, the WSTF-ERC team is proud to announce that ERC presented a check to Casa De Peregrinos (Casa) for $1,200 AND a check to Jardin De Los Ninos for $1,000. This could not have been done this without the support and generosity of those who make up the ERC Family.

Casa de Peregrinos (Casa), a food pantry in Las Cruces, New Mexico, serves not only Las Cruces but also much of Doña Ana County. Here, tough times tend to strike both often and hard. Right now, for example, nearly one-quarter of our residents live below poverty level. In rural colonias they’re actually living far below, with family incomes averaging $5,000 per year.

Imagine trying to feed, house, and clothe yourself—or a family!—on that amount of money. So, people in such circumstances often turn to Casa for help. And we’ve been providing that help to hungry people since the early 1979.

Jardin de los Niños: No child ever chooses to be homeless or near homeless. Yet, there are over 600 children who reside in Doña Ana County that are presently classified as being homeless or near homeless. At Jardín de los Niños we work to provide homeless and near homeless children and their families with the environment and tools necessary to break that vicious cycle.

Feds Feed Families:  Through the amazing generosity of federal employees, since 2009 the food drive has collected nearly 39 million pounds of food for those in need. Last year alone, more than 14.8 million pounds were donated and provided to food banks and pantries.
